I think the 2004 election will go down as the election in which the population of the United States said, "Wait...you want me to vote for the stiff blueblood from the Northeast that has no interest in the common folk and when he tries to engage in commoner activities he goes windsurfing or skiing (wherein he manages to wreck and curse out a Secret Service official)? This is who you want me to vote for? He's totally bland! And arrogant! I'll choose any one else including the extremely unpopular sitting president." And that's what the voters did. Mr. JK (is he just kidding?) decided to help his cause by either a) showing off that arrogant blueblood side of his or b) Butchering an extremely simple joke by leaving out two very important words. Of course, either way, he fits into the boring, stiff, blueblood stereotype. Congratulations, John. You managed to say something that disparages the intelligence of our military a week before the election that your party has cast as a referendum on the war. Yeah, let's let the arrogant jerks take over this war instead of the bumbling jerks..er...uh...(No matter how Republican you are, you just have to tear your hair out whenever Dick Cheney does anything...latest fun comment is that he aproves of water torture (or 'water-boarding' as he calls it) He's a nice guy, that Dick). Anywho, here's the clip of John Kerry saying his brilliant line.

His apology is hilarious as well. "Let me make it crystal clear, crystal clear, as clear as crystal can be..." Blah. And he stumbles over the word "true". Why so hard to say "true" John? A new written statement included him calling Tony Snow a "stuffed suit White House mouthpiece" and Rush Limbaugh "doughy". I thunk little Johnny needs to spend some time away from others to think about what he's said and prepare a REAL apology.
