When's the last time two consecutive Super Bowls have been so competitive? That Steelers-Cardinals game was incredible. Better than Niners-Bengals? Uh, so so so close, but no. Because Joe Montana had to go 92 yards and not 88...but still, there were so many eerie similarities. Length of the field drive, QB cool as all get out in the pocket, totally accurate, a three point deficit and people discussing the possibility of overtime until WHAM! big 30 yard pass play gets team deep, and then a beautiful pass with only 34 seconds left. Couple of thoughts...
I don't think Kurt Warner fumbled with 5 seconds left. If Warner fumbled than Tom Brady fumbled in 2001 and the Patriots lose and the Raiders and Rams play in that Super Bowl and the Rams win and Kurt Warner is a shoo-in to the Hall of Fame.
Larry Fitzgerald totally looked like Jerry Rice on that 64 yard TD. I haven't seen that beautiful of a catch and run in a really long time.
As punishing as that Steelers defense is, I could not figure out why the Cardinals didn't go deep EVER against them.
Harrison and Woodley are awesome end rushers. I can't remember watching two tackles on the same team being completely incapable of stopping the rush. I guess that might explain the above point. Warner wasn't getting sacked a lot but he always was feeling the heat.
I want to see stats on the win percentages for a team that throw an INT that's returned for a touchdown. I imagine it's quite low. I rarely see a team overcome it.
