Our Annual Baseball Game or We are East Coast

There's no better time to see baseball in the Baltimore-Washington corridor than during August and September because the Orioles and Nationals are always out of contention, meaning that a) they have great deals to try and get anyone to the games and b) you can show up at game time and still get cheap tickets. (It's better to do this with the Nationals because they don't play the Yankees or the Red Sox so you don't have to put up with a bunch of visiting fans. Camden Yards in September is a shame when you hear "let's go Red Sox" chants.) Today was dollar ticket day for kids and the Nationals were playing the miserable Mets, so there was no problem getting tickets waaaaay up on the first base side.

No one likes a narrative of a game between two out of contention teams. So, here are the highlights.

- I witnessed my first grand slam

- Our seats had cobwebs on them. Cobwebs! and I'm pretty sure that the Nats are in the middle of a homestand. I suppose that's all one really needs to say about the attendance issues in DC.

- And now for the supreme highlight. We had a couple in front of us, the guy was a stereotypical young Washingtonian namely kind of a self important cocky jerk. He obviously did not like having three kids behind him. If there's inducing we pride ourselves on with our children is that we do not allow them to be nuisances in public places. We don't allow them to kick seats, touch strangers, etc. Well, this guy kept making comments all game or shooting dirty looks if one of the kids brushed the cupholder attached to the back of his seat. Or if a kid put their foot on the seat next to him. Anyway, about the sixth inning, Christina would have no more of it saying, "Quit giving them dirty looks, they aren't touching your seat and you can move if you want to. There are tons of other seats. Oh, and this is a ball game not an opera house." It was pretty epic. Guy didn't say another word, verbally smacked around by an eight month pregnant woman. It was awesome and, well, a little east coast. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Hmmm, what's with the child haters back there? Did you tell Christina about our taking Matt as a 5-year-old to hear Itzhak Perlman in London and the old bat that watched his every movement through the whole concert? Fortunately, I didn't have to slap her down like Christina did this fool.
