Robin Hood (1991)

I have never seen Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. So, when I saw that Robin Hood (1991) was being show on Fox Movie Classics, I thought I'd see how bad it really was. Turns out it was Robin Hood, yes, but some other version that came out in 1991 with Uma Thurman as Maid Marion. Huh? And instead of English accents coming and going, French accents were coming and going (Baron De Guerre was English half the time and French i.e. Norman half the time, most likely because the actor was German). And I loved it (I mean, I stumbled on it during a commercial for Karate Kid II and did not go back to the kid, despite the promise of an epic closing fight in Okinawa with everyone doing their hand drums). It hit all the basic points of the Robin Hood myths, had all the basic characters, and did not take itself serious. It was reminiscent in quality to that Ivanhoe that the BBC (?) trotted out in 1997 that was seriously brilliant.

Don't waste your life on RH=POT. It's so bad. So very, very bad. Even for Costner, it's bad.
