Thoughts on tonight's episode:
1) Kate has gone from being tough chick, to wimpy chick in 8 episodes. Seriously. She never does anything, never punches anyone, never steals anyone's gun. How was she on the lam for so long?
2) The flashbacks have been too much lately. They could have slipped in an additional 15 minutes of good action. Heck, they could have slipped in an additional 15 minutes of good action if they cut down on the Kate-Sawyer shooting longing looks.
3) Once again, TV lets us down on the whole how nice you'd be to someone if they were sleeping with your girl. If you're Jack, and you're in love with Kate and you see her sleeping with the man you hate, wellsir, I think Jack should have performed the operation on Henry/Ben with no betrayal and then asked to be part of the club and hook up with the fertility doctor and let the cheating girl and her scummy boyfriend rot in their cages. I mean, honestly, seeing what he saw on the telescreen, that would make any man behave irrationally or coldly rational. And saving Sawyer is neither.
4) Locke and Eko were mortal enemies at the end of last season, and suddenly Locke was all blabbering about how great he was and Eko seemed so okay with Locke that he left him a message on his pogo stick. Whatever. Once again, real hatred just dissolved away. Charlie seems to be the only one of the island exhibiting real human emotion - Protective of his girl, sulky about being used by various people on the island.
5) What's with trying to introduce lame couple after Eko's death? I'm seeing a retread of Boone and Shannon. Please, no more new important characters.
6) Why has Hurley been totally ignored?
7) How can you have a kid with untapped weird powers in the first season and then have him shipped off at the end of the second season to never fully realize these powers? I thought that Walt would become a central character, communing with the island or something. But no. This still bugs me. Okay, so that's a complaint from last season.
I still watch Lost. But as Christina keeps saying, "They really need to tie some ends together before showing off new ones." No kidding. When the show began, the cretors siad they were working towards a definite ending with definite markers along the way they were going to have to hit. Well, let's hit some of these markers. It took eight episodes for Jack to get out of his cage. Waaaaay too long. On the other island, Eko's died. That's pretty much it. Oh, Sun shot someone. This should be happening WEEKLY! Instead, we get good action once every three episodes. And if you think tonight's episode was action...uh...yeah...um, a gun was pulled on Sawyer and he was threatened with death and Jack performed surgury. This could have been wrapped up in the first half hour. Their dawdling is astonishing.

Agreed. In fact, I have been proclaiming that watching LOST is like homework. Requires a lot of effort without too much pay-off. But I can't stop. And that never happened with homework. So, yeah, my analogy sucks.
