Questions for the Westerners
Is Provo awash in BYU glory at this moment in time? Are people really excited that BYU finally has a decent team? I'm on the other side of the country and I'm excited. I listen to every game on the internet. But I'm wondering if Provo has awakened like in the old days or if everyone's too hipster to care any more. You know, liking football, that's so not indie. I think that's really the thing I miss about Provo. I loved BYU football games on autumn days, sitting in my parents seats in the faculty/nosebleed sections surrounded by other BYU faculty members that really exploded at the refs. It was never crude or profane, just mean. And they were sober. I want to take my kid to a Maryland game, but from what I've heard it's like deciding to go to an Oasis concert. Lots of drunkards, filthy chanting, etc. So, maybe not. I always liked BYU's crowd, especially watching my dad the Humanities professor, his buddy the Management professor and his other buddy the Japanese professor. Great times. I really believe that BYU would destroy my Terps in a bowl game. I really do. The Terps have zero offense, and I mean zero. Hollenbach is "steady" which is code for "not very good, but he can drive us to kick a field goal if need be." Anyway, that's all. I'm interested to know if the hipsters have quashed the BYU spirit.

You'd never know the Cougars were two plays from being undefeated. There is an attitude of complacency towards the program. Too many ostracizing quirks. And this year a large percentage of the fans can't even see the games on television. I've seen one. Yeah.
Have you ever listened to Slow Runner? I think you might like.
The TV problem is a big deal. Monumental choke job by the MWC. Monumental. Unforgivable. And I can watch the games. I've even been to two blowouts in person - SDSU and last night's yawner.
