The breaking of the fellowship

This is why the Shins will fail...perhaps why the Shins have already failed. It is incomprehensible to me how you could be a big enough jerk to fire your friend just because he isn't as technically proficient as some studio player. Wincing the Night Away sounded soulless. I expect nothing less from whatever new material they produce (but at least we know the drumming will be adequate). A rule of thumb for arrogant lead singers that watch their star rise as their band finds success. Bono has never fired anyone in the band. Michael Stipe has never fired anyone in the band. Because you can't fire a co-equal.(I think one of the difficulties I have in fully embracing Wilco is their willingness to lop off members of the band.)

Hmmm, well THAT, and Bono knows that the Edge has talent while he, um. Well he DOES stuff, man. He's the people person! He TOLD YOU! He's the #$$#%%^! PEOPLE PERSON!!!!!
I agree, by the way. My other pet peeve is bands that are touring way WAAAY beyond their prime, or beyond anyone being interested.
