Poleaxing Cliff Lee in Game 1

When I came home tonight, Christina said "Check out the top left of your new SI." it says: "Rangers ace Cliff Lee: why he'll be the difference." I looked at the article, written by Tom Verducci, and he wrote: "The left-hander is more than the central character of the series: he looms above it like the sun above the Earth."

Yes, he sits astride the series like a mighty Colossus...until felled like a cow hit in the face by a two by four. Giants scored 7 runs off him in four innings and tarnished his career postseason ERA, dropping him from third all time to eighteenth.

Of course, no one expected it because no one has figured out that the Giants offense has had to go through the pitching- rich NL West, the Braves, and the Phillies, both of whom are excellent pitching teams, to get to the world series. Yes, their offense has already faced down the best pitchers...and triumphed. Thus, it's perfectly within their abilities to, well, poleaxe the best postseason pitcher since Sandy Koufax.

Of course, if they get shut out tonight, then never mind. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop
